What happened late Sunday night in Ausa taluka broke all limits of humanity. A person was first tied in a sack, then stuffed into a car and set on fire alive. Within a few minutes the car became a ball of fire and the person trapped inside could not even get a chance to get out.

This horrific incident happened around 12 o’clock in the night on Wanvada Road in Ausa Taluka. The deceased has been identified as Ganesh Chavan, 35, who worked as a recovery worker in a finance company. When passers-by saw the burning car, the police were informed. Police and fire brigade personnel reached the spot and tried to extinguish the fire, but by then everything was over.

The fire was so fierce that the body inside the car was completely burnt to ashes. The circumstances were such that identification on the spot became impossible (Finance Company Recovery Agent). The police conducted Panchnama at the spot and sent the body for post-mortem and completed the identification process through DNA test. After this, further legal action was initiated after informing the family members.

During the investigation, the remains of the burnt car became an important link for the police. On the basis of number plate and clues related to the vehicle, the police reached Ausa Tanda area. After interrogation there at around 3.30 in the night, information related to the identity of the deceased and his activities could be revealed.
