Tournament Starts March 26, Final on May 31

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 tentative dates have been disclosed as the newest turn of events, with the beginning of the tournament on March 26, and the conclusion on May 31. The governing IPL body had a discussion with all the franchises before deciding on the dates during the scheduled meeting.
Still, the issue of Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru as the venue for the tournament’s opening match is not resolved yet. Generally, the first match of the IPL is held at the location of the reigning champions, but considering the uncertainty regarding Chinnaswamy, it might happen that the season’s first match takes place at another venue.
Cricbuzz reported that the 19th season of the IPL schedule was disclosed by IPL’s CEO Hemang Amin.

The total number of players going for auction would now stand at 369 with the new additions while 77 players would be sellable on the table (but that still is conditional).
