The Complete MI IPL 2026 Squad After The Auction
MI IPL 2026 Squad: The IPL 2026 auction has come to a rest, and we now have the full picture of how the Mumbai Indians will shape up in the upcoming season of the biggest franchise cricket league in the world.
The Indians came into the auction with a minute budget of Rs 02.75 crore, the smallest in the league. They had a decent season last year, making it to the playoffs and finishing one step away from the final. They have retained almost their entire squad from last season, making a few moves in the trade window. This also means they did not make many moves in the auction.

MI retained its core nicely. This means that they have almost the entire squad from last season, barring some fringe players.
Let’s start with trades. Mumbai brought in Shardul Thakur from the Lucknow Super Giants for Rs. 2 crore, Sherfane Rutherford from the Gujarat Titans for Rs. 2.6 crore, and Mayank Markande from the Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs. 30 lakh.
Now, we come to retentions. In what is a stacked batting order, the Indians retained Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Naman Dhir, Indian wicketkeeper Robin Minz, and overseas wicketkeeper Ryan Rickelton.
Mumbai might have the best stack of all-rounders in the league. Led by captain Hardik Pandya, this team boasts the likes of Will Jacks, Corbin Bosch, Mitchell Santner, and Raj Bawa.
They might lack in the specialised-spin department before the auction, as the only two retained were Raghu Sharma and Allah Ghazanfar, joined by Mayank Markande post-trade.
Finally, we come to pacers, and they have a solid core of Indian fast bowlers. Highlighted by Jasprit Bumrah, other pacers in this team are Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, Ashwani Kumar, and New Zealand legend Trent Boult.
In a comedic display of auction shenanigans, Mumbai was the first team to bid on Cameron Green, knowing that they could not be a part of the race for the Aussie all-rounder.
Their first and only buy in the first four hours of the auction saw them bring back South African wicketkeeper/batter Quinton de Kock back into the MI fold for a price of Rs. 1 crore, an absolute steal.
With less than Rs. 2 crore remaining, the Indians picked up some uncapped Indian players at a base price of 30 lakh in accelerated rounds. These include Vidharba batter Danish Malewar, Bihar medium-pacer Mohammed Izhar, and Mumbai-based spinning all-rounder Atharva Ankolekar.
Then, in the second accelerated round, MI bought Delhi all-rounder Mayank Rawat for Rs. 30 lakh. This was also their last purchase for the IPL 2026 auction.
