Haryana: Strictness on vehicle pollution in Haryana, government took this big decision
Haryana News: The government has taken a big decision to tighten the noose on vehicular pollution in Haryana. Now the responsibility of controlling the companies issuing pollution certificates (PUC) will be handed over to the Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB) instead of the Transport Department. Along with this, Environment Department officials will now also regularly inspect the pollution testing equipment installed at petrol pumps.
Giving information in this regard, Forest and Environment Minister Rao Narbir Singh said that environmental imbalance has become a serious problem in the NCR region. In view of this, the Haryana government is completely serious about environmental pollution control. The government is ensuring strict compliance with the guidelines issued by the National Green Tribunal (NGT) and the Supreme Court.
Rao Narbir Singh said that the increasing air pollution in Delhi and surrounding areas during November-December is not limited to stubble burning or seasonal reasons only. Smoke from vehicles, building construction activities and emissions from industrial units are also the main reasons for this.
He clarified that the new decision aims to bring transparency in the pollution certificate system and ensure that vehicles are tested as per the correct standards. This will not only stop fake certificates, but will also help in improving air quality.
The Government believes that with direct monitoring of the Pollution Control Board, the process of pollution checking at petrol pumps will be more effective and concrete steps can be taken to control air pollution in entire Haryana including NCR.
