New chapter in India-Ethiopia relations, PM Modi awarded the highest civilian honor ‘Great Honor Nishan’
Prime Minister Modi was honored with the country’s highest civilian honor ‘Great Honor Mark of Ethiopia’ in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia.
PM Modi Ethiopia Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was honored with the highest civilian honor ‘Great Honor Mark of Ethiopia’ during his visit to Ethiopia. Reacting to this, Union Home Minister Amit Shah called it a moment of pride for every Indian. He said that Prime Minister Modi receiving this honor is a historic achievement for India-Ethiopia relations. This honor was presented to Prime Minister Narendra Modi by Ethiopian Prime Minister Dr. Abi Ahmed Ali.
‘This is the honor of 140 crore people’: PM Modi
After receiving the highest civilian honor in Ethiopia, PM Modi said that this is an honor for 140 crore people. PM Modi said, ‘I accept this honor with full humility and gratitude on behalf of all Indians. This honor belongs to the countless Indians who shaped our partnership. I have been awarded the Great Honor of Ethiopia, this country’s highest honour. It is a matter of great pride for me to be honored by the world’s most ancient and rich civilization.

It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the first Prime Minister in the world to receive this honour. He expressed his gratitude to Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali, saying that during the G20 summit, he was cordially invited to visit Ethiopia, which he could not refuse.
‘We are committed to moving forward together with Ethiopia’
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that today when the eyes of the whole world are on the Global South, Ethiopia’s long-standing tradition of self-respect, independence and self-respect is a source of inspiration for all of us. He said that the future belongs to those partnerships which are based on foresight and trust. India is committed to working with Ethiopia to pursue cooperation that both addresses changing global challenges and creates new possibilities.

Prime Minister Modi, who arrived in Ethiopia on his first bilateral visit from Jordan, was formally welcomed at the National Palace. Earlier he had said that he looked forward to discussions with the Ethiopian leadership with the aim of further strengthening the partnership in various fields.
In a post on social media platform X, Union Minister Shah said that this is a proud moment for every Indian. He said that this is the 28th highest honor given to PM Modi by a foreign country, which shows India’s growing credibility in the world. He said that this honor will be an important milestone in the friendship between India and Ethiopia.

PM Modi reached Ethiopia on a two-day visit
It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Ethiopia on Tuesday on a two-day visit, where he was warmly welcomed at the airport. This visit is being considered important for further strengthening the political, economic and diplomatic relations between India and Ethiopia.
