Not only this, then to hide their crime, they buried all three dead bodies in the toilet tank of the house. This incident is not only the story of the destruction of a family, but also raises a big question on the poisonous thinking which kills relationships in the name of anger and so-called respect.
If you did not wear a burqa, you were murdered.
The truth that came out in the police investigation was heart-wrenching. There was a fight between husband and wife. The allegation was that Tahira had gone out of the house without wearing a burqa. Farooq was so upset by this that he shot his wife and elder daughter Afrin. He strangled his younger daughter Sareen to death. After this, the three dead bodies were buried in the pit dug for the toilet and a concrete floor was made on top.
Was missing for five days
Actually, wife Tahira and two daughters Afrin and Sareen were missing for five days. The family searched, but no clue was found. Farooq’s father suspected something untoward and lodged a missing report with the police. During the investigation, Farooq continued to mislead the police. But when strictly interrogated, he confessed to his crime. When the courtyard was excavated on his instructions, the truth came to light.
The bigger question than crime: What kind of thinking is this?
According to SP NP Singh, further action is being taken by taking the accused into custody. But before the law, a big question has arisen in front of the society that whether a woman’s freedom, dressing or going out as per her wish is such a big “mistake” that its punishment should be death? This triple murder is not just a family tragedy, but a mirror of the mentality which even today considers women and children as their “ownership”. There is an atmosphere of fear in the village, but even more scary is the thought that turns a person into a beast.
