IPL 2026 Mini Auction: KKR’s Big Deal in IPL 2026 Auction! 18 crore calculated for ‘this’ player

IPL 2026 Mini Auction : Mathisha Pathirana’s auction saw fierce competition. Delhi, Lucknow and Kolkata bid for him. Delhi Capitals increased their bid to Rs 16 crore, but later withdrew. Kolkata Knight Riders then continued their aggressive bid. Lucknow Super Giants also withdrew after reaching Rs.18 crores. Finally, Kolkata Knight Riders spent a whopping Rs 18 Crores to add Mathisha Pathirana to their team.

Cameron Greene made history

In the IPL auction, Kolkata Knight Riders have made their debut with Australian all-rounder Cameron Greene for ₹25.20 crore. Which makes him the most expensive foreign player. KKR then also made a huge bid for Sri Lankan fast bowler Mathisha Pathirana. After a bidding war with Lucknow Super Giants, Kolkata bought Pathirana for ₹18 crore. With this purchase, Mathisha Pathiran has become the most expensive Sri Lankan player in IPL history.
