Reliance Relaunch SIL Foods: Mukesh Ambani led Reliance has further strengthened its feet in the FMCG business. Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), the FMCG subsidiary of Reliance Industries, has again launched the 75-year-old food brand SIL in the market in a new avatar.
After Campa Cola, now this Ambani company will sell everything from noodles to ketchup and jam. That too at affordable prices. Reliance had acquired this brand in January this year.
Coming with a new range of Noodles and Tomato Ketchup
Reliance Industries said on Tuesday that it is bringing a new range of SIL noodles. Four variants will be available in this range – Masala, Atta with Veggies, Korean K-Fire and Chow-Chow. Their price will start from Rs 5. According to the company, the starting price of SIL ketchup made from real tomatoes (made without artificial colors or synthetic ingredients) has been kept at one rupee. SIL Mixed Fruit Jam prepared from 8 fruits will be launched in the market in 100 gram, 200 gram and 500 gram packs. Its starting price will be Rs 22.

Reliance is expanding rapidly
SIL started with the name James Smith & Company. It was acquired by Marico Industries in 1993. Later, Marico Industries sold it to Scandic Food India, a subsidiary of Danish company Good Food Group. This brand was acquired by Food Service India in 2021. In January 2025, Reliance Consumer Products purchased the SIL brand from Food Service India. The company has recently expanded its business rapidly in the FMCG segment. It has so far acquired Campa Cola Soft Drinks, Ruskeek Beverages, Sosyo Carbonated Drinks, Lotus Chocolates and Rawalgaon & Toffeeman Confectionery etc. With Reliance’s acquisition of SIL, it competes with companies like Hindustan Unilever (HUL), Tata Consumer and Cremica.
