Rail passengers will be able to know 10 hours in advance whether their waiting tickets are confirmed or not.
New Delhi. To provide convenience to its passengers, Indian Railways has decided to make a major change in the train reservation charting system. Now passengers will know 10 hours before the departure of the train whether their waitlisted ticket is confirmed or not. At present the reservation chart is prepared about four hours before the departure of the train, but now the Railways has decided to prepare the chart 10 hours in advance. This will benefit those passengers whose tickets are not confirmed as they will know the confirmed status of their tickets 10 hours before the journey and will have enough time to consider other travel options.

According to Railways, the first chart of trains leaving from 5 am to 2 pm will be prepared a day before by 8 pm. Whereas the chart of trains whose departure time is between 2.01 pm to 11.59 pm and trains leaving from midnight to 5 am will be prepared 10 hours before departure. Till now, the final chart is prepared 4 hours in advance due to which the passengers with waiting tickets remain confused and many times they are not even left with the option of traveling by other train, bus or other means if the ticket is not confirmed.

Passengers whose home is far away from the station often get the message of reservation chart on the way and if their ticket is not confirmed then they have to face a lot of trouble. Now Railways has taken this step to solve this problem that has been facing the passengers for a long time. For this, necessary guidelines have been issued to all zonal railway divisions. Let us tell you that Railways keeps improving the rules from time to time keeping in mind the facilities of the passengers.
