Everyone eats carrot halwa, but if you eat this black gold urad dal in winter, you will not need a doctor.

News India Live, Digital Desk: It is not possible that it is winter season and Halwa is not made at home. Usually, as soon as winter sets in, we all move straight towards carrot halwa. But friends, do you know why our elders and grandmothers used to insist on “Urad Dal Halwa” more than carrots in winter? Today we are going to tell you about a desi recipe which is not just a sweet, but a “tonic” for winter. Especially for those new mothers whose little guest has just arrived at home (after delivery), this halwa is no less than a boon. Why only urad dal halwa? (Benefits) See, urad dal is hot in nature. It is filled with protein and iron. Iron for bones: People often suffer from joint pain or back pain in winter. This halwa works to ‘grease’ the bones. Recovery after delivery: Women’s body becomes very weak after delivery. This halwa helps in giving them back strength, increasing milk production and getting rid of back pain. It is often made with gum and lots of dry fruits. Method of preparation (Step-by-Step in desi style) Making it is not rocket science, just a little hard work and a lot of love is required. Preparation of dal: First of all, soak the washed urad dal overnight or for at least 4-5 hours. When it swells, grind it a little coarsely in a mixer. Do not make a paste, otherwise the taste will not be there. Roasting is the real secret: Take good amount of desi ghee in the pan. Don’t be stingy at all, because the real taste will come only from ghee. Now add the lentil paste.Tip: This is the stage where you have to be patient. Fry the dal on low flame until its color turns golden brown and the whole house smells of ghee. Milk and sweetness: When the dal is roasted and starts releasing ghee, add milk slowly into it. Keep stirring it so that lumps do not form.Flavour: Now add sugar or jaggery (jaggery is better in winters). Add cardamom powder along with it. Tadka of strength: Take some ghee separately, swell the ‘gum’ in it and chop a lot of cashews, almonds and pistachios. Mix it in halwa. Your hot immunity booster is ready! Eat it in the morning for breakfast or before sleeping at night with hot milk. This will not only please the tongue but will also steel the body. Will there be a new dish this Sunday?
