Strict instructions from CM Yogi: Guidelines issued for all districts
Lucknow. In view of the increasing impact of dense fog and severe cold, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued strict guidelines for all the districts of the state. His clear message is that no negligence of any kind will be accepted in the safety of life, transport system and care of the destitute. Under this, the administration, police and related departments have been asked to remain in full alert mode.
Special emphasis on traffic and road safety
The Chief Minister has instructed Divisional Commissioners, District Magistrates, Police Officers and Traffic Department to strengthen security arrangements from cities to highways and expressways. The possibility of accidents increases due to fog, hence orders have been given to increase patrolling on the expressway, identify black spots and take extra vigilance there.
Apart from this, there are instructions to keep cranes, ambulances and other emergency services available 24 hours, so that immediate help can be provided in any situation. Emphasis has also been laid on giving information to drivers about fog and poor visibility through loudspeakers at toll plazas.
Strictness in poor visibility
CM Yogi has clearly said that there should be no lapse in traffic management during low visibility. A warning has been given of strict action against overspeeding. Instructions have been given to the concerned departments to ensure that road lighting, reflectors and indicators remain in perfect condition. Emphasis has also been laid on improving all the arrangements by coordinating with NHAI and state highway authorities.
Protection of destitute and cattle
In view of the cold and cold wave, the Chief Minister has also paid special attention to human aspects. He instructed that no person should be found sleeping in the open. The destitute should be shifted to night shelters, where facilities like heaters, bonfires and blankets are available in sufficient quantity. Along with this, it has also been asked to ensure bonfire and other necessary arrangements in cow sheds to protect the cows from cold.
Travel guidelines for safe travel
An appeal has been made to follow some important precautions for the safety of passengers during dense fog. Drivers have been advised to keep the speed below the prescribed limit, use fog lights and keep headlights on low-beam. It is said to be extremely important to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle moving ahead, frequently change lanes and avoid overtaking. If there is too much fog, it has also been advised not to take risks and stop the journey. Also, special emphasis has been laid on installing reflector tape at the back of the vehicles, so that the vehicles coming from behind can remain alert.
