Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav is under pressure due to poor form. He has averaged below 15 this season and is yet to score a half-century in 2025. In the third match at Dharamsala, he got out cheaply while chasing 118 runs.
Vice-captain Shubman Gill is also struggling after being moved to the opening slot, a change that disrupted the batting order and left Sanju Samson out. Gill scored a slow 28 runs in the previous match.
Meanwhile, South Africa must win to stay alive in the series. They have lost 18 of their last 28 T20 matches since the previous World Cup final, largely due to frequent team changes.
India have added Shahbaz Ahmed to the squad, while Jasprit Bumrah may return for the crucial match. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 pm.
