Be careful with international calls, you may be harassed Gujarati
The Department of Telecommunications (DOT) has advised people to exercise caution while receiving calls from unknown international numbers. Calls from numbers other than +91 may be fraudulent.
‘International Incoming Spoofed Calls Prevention System’ has been launched. The Communications Ministry says scammers are now using international numbers. To counter this, ‘International Incoming Spoofed Calls Prevention System’ has been launched on 22 October. About 1.35 crore or 90 percent of international calls made from Indian phone numbers were identified and blocked within 24 hours.
The ministry had said that the task force set up against anti-piracy had recommended that telecom providers should mark calls coming from outside the country as “International calls”. Airtel has started doing this. Other service providers are also investigating the technical feasibility of implementing this.
