Threat to bomb many courts of Mumbai and Nagpur, created panic…Police engaged in investigation

Mumbai :There was panic in Maharashtra on Thursday when several major courts of Mumbai received threatening emails. After these emails came to light, security agencies immediately increased vigilance and precautionary measures were taken. Entry and movement into the court premises was controlled after receiving information that the Bombay High Court, Bandra Metropolitan Court, Andheri Metropolitan Court and Fort Court premises were targeted.

Court proceedings temporarily halted
Let us tell you that in view of the seriousness of the threat, the judicial proceedings going on in the courts of Mumbai were postponed till afternoon. The Bombay High Court complex was completely evacuated so that any possible threat could be dealt with. After this, the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) teams conducted a thorough search of every part of the court complex.

Even after search no suspicious object was found
During the detailed investigation conducted by the security agencies, no explosive or suspicious material has been confirmed so far. Police officials said that all necessary steps have been taken as a precautionary measure and security arrangements will be kept tight until the investigation is completed. Also, the cyber cell has started investigation to identify the sender of the threatening email.

Bomb threat to Nagpur District Court also
In a separate incident on the same day, Nagpur District and Sessions Court also received a threatening email. This email was sent to the official email ID of the court, in which it was said that the premises would be bombed. The sender of the email revealed his name as “ISI Madras Tiger”, which created an atmosphere of chaos in the court premises.

Police and bomb disposal squad deployed in Nagpur
As soon as the threat was received, the court administration immediately informed the police. After this, security was increased in the Nagpur District and Sessions Court premises and the bomb disposal squad along with the police started a massive search operation. Security forces are closely checking the court building, surrounding areas and entry gates.

Security agencies alert, investigation ongoing
According to police officials, security agencies in both Mumbai and Nagpur are continuously monitoring the situation. At present no explosive material has been confirmed, but tight security arrangements will continue until the investigation is completed. Officials said that all necessary resources have been kept ready to deal with any possible threat.
