BSF seizes cocaine worth Rs 1.5 crore at India-Bangladesh border in West Bengal
New Delhi. The Border Security Force (BSF) has recovered a large quantity of drug cocaine during patrolling on the India-Bangladesh international border. BSF conducted a search operation based on intelligence and during this the soldiers seized 316 grams of cocaine. The price of this cocaine in the international market is estimated to be around Rs 1.5 crore. BSF jawans of 149th Corps of South Bengal Frontier had received information that narcotics were hidden in the house of a suspect in village Char Binpara of Border Outpost Lavangola. Based on this information, BSF soldiers launched a search operation.

Before starting the search operation, the BSF team took along two people from the village as witnesses. After this, the suspect’s house was searched and the surrounding area was also investigated. BSF jawans found a suspicious packet a few meters away from the suspect’s house. When the packet was opened, it contained something like a powder, which was tested and turned out to be cocaine. The recovered cocaine has been handed over to the concerned department for further legal action. At present no one has been arrested yet in this case.

While giving information on this entire matter, the Public Relations Officer of South Bengal Frontier said that BSF soldiers are doing duty with full alertness and commitment so that smuggling on the India-Bangladesh border can be stopped. He said that due to the alert monitoring and strategic operations of our soldiers, the plans of smugglers are being foiled. Let us tell you that a large number of drugs are transported to India from the border areas through Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal. To stop this, the soldiers deployed on the border keep taking action.
