Opposition will siege Yogi government in the winter session of UP Legislature, supplementary budget will be presented on December 22

Lucknow, 18 December. The six-day winter session of the Uttar Pradesh Legislature starting from Friday will not be easy for the Yogi government. During this brief session, the opposition will siege the state government regarding the good governance of the Yogi government.

If even two-thirds of the original budget is not spent then why supplementary budget?,

During this time, the opposition will question the UP government that when the state government has not been able to spend even two-thirds of the original budget, then why Rs 30,000 crore is being allocated for development works through the supplementary budget. With this, the opposition parties will oppose the decision of the Yogi government to discuss Vande Mataram in the Assembly.

Will oppose the government’s decision to hold discussion on Vande Mataram – Akhilesh

Former Chief Minister and Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav, while disclosing this stand of the opposition parties on Thursday, said that the UP government wants to avoid discussion on important issues of the public, that is why it wants to discuss the issue of Vande Mataram in the Assembly whereas this issue has already been discussed in the Lok Sabha. This decision of Yogi government will be opposed in the House.

Not spending one third of the budget will be a problem for the government

The Yogi government will present the supplementary budget for the financial year 2025-26 on December 22 in the very brief winter session of the Uttar Pradesh Legislature. The size of this supplementary budget is estimated to be up to Rs 30 thousand crore. It is being told that through this supplementary budget, there is a plan to give huge amount of money for the works of UPEDA expressway projects and about six thousand crores to be given to the Public Works Department for road projects and also to give money for rural development, charitable work and development of tourist places.

Meanwhile, according to Assembly Speaker Satish Mahana, the date-wise program for the winter session from 19 to 24 December has been decided. According to the program, the session will start on Friday, December 19. On the first day, the House will be adjourned to express condolences on the death of SP MLA Sudhakar Singh. There will be no meeting of the House on 20th and 21st December due to Saturday and Sunday.

After the Question Hour on 22nd December, informal work will be done in the House, in which ordinances, notifications, rules will be laid on the table of the House. Demands for grants for the financial year 2025-26 will be presented in the House on the afternoon of the same day. Then on Tuesday, 23 December, the supplementary budget will be discussed along with question hour and legislative work.

It will be passed along with the discussion on the supplementary budget on Wednesday 24th December. During the winter session, the UP Pension Entitlement and Validation, UP Municipal Corporation (Amendment) and UP Shops and Commercial Establishments (Amendment) Ordinances will be presented for approval in the form of bills.
