Dehradun. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami arrived at a grand program organized at Himalayan Cultural Centre, Lemunwala on Thursday on World Minority Rights Day. Here he honored the promising children of the minority community and also visited various stalls. But the real scene was created when Muslim women who came in large numbers thanked CM Dhami wholeheartedly for implementing UCC and called him “their brother”.

Hundreds of Muslim women present at the program said in one voice that the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) has changed their lives. The women said emotionally, “Chief Minister is like a brother to us, he got us justice.”

Dhami enumerated the minority friendly schemes of Modi government

The Chief Minister said that today is a day to remember the unity and integrity of India. Reiterating the idea of ​​Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, he said that India has always considered the world as one family. Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dhami said that minorities are being included in the mainstream with the mantra of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.

Apart from schemes like Jan Dhan, Ujjwala, PM Awas, free ration, major decisions like Kartarpur Corridor, Jio Parsi Scheme, abolishing triple talaq, making Haj process digital were counted. He also talked about improving the new Waqf law and building schools, colleges and hostels in minority dominated areas.

Bumper schemes for minorities in Uttarakhand

Dhami said that many schemes are running in the state like Chief Minister Minority Incentive Scheme, Pre-10th and Post-10th Scholarship, Minority Development Fund of Rs. 4 crores, Chief Minister Hunar Yojana, Self-Employment Loan up to Rs. 10 lakh with 25% subsidy, Maulana Azad Education Loan (interest-free up to Rs. 5 lakh). In the last 4 years, more than Rs 4 crore has been distributed to 169 children.

New minority education law and anti-conversion law also implemented

CM said that now the new education law has come into force for all minority communities (Sikh, Christian, Jain, Buddhist, Parsi, Muslim). Along with religious education, the curriculum of Uttarakhand Board will also be taught in all minority schools including madrassas. Besides, strict laws have also been implemented to stop forced conversions.

Appeal to raise voice against atrocities on minorities in the world

Dhami said that minorities are being discriminated against and harassed in many countries. He appealed to everyone to raise their voice against those countries on social media.

Many dignitaries including Minority Commission Vice Chairperson Farzana Begum, Padmashree Dr. RK Jain, Hemkund Sahib Trust President Narendrajit Singh Bindra, Waqf Board President Shadab Shams were present in the program.
