Stock Market Today: Market opened with slight fall, Sensex-Nifty fell in global market.

Mumbai. In line with weakness in global markets, Sensex and Nifty registered a slight decline in early trade on Thursday. BSE Sensex fell 214.87 points to 84,344.78 in early trade and NSE Nifty slipped 56.1 points to 25,762.45.

Among the 30 companies included in the Sensex, shares of Sun Pharma, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, Mahindra & Mahindra, NTPC, Bharat Electronics and Maruti were the biggest losers. Whereas shares of HCL Tech, Tata Consultancy Services, Tech Mahindra and ITC remained on the rise.

In Asian markets, South Korea’s Kospi, Japan’s Nikkei 225 and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng were in loss while China’s SSE Composite was in profit. US markets closed with a decline on Wednesday. On the domestic stock market front, Sensex fell 114.06 points to 84,445.59 points in early trade while Nifty slipped 41.10 points to 25,777.45 points.

International standard Brent crude stood at $ 60.07 per barrel with a gain of 0.65 percent. According to stock market data, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) were buyers on Wednesday and bought shares worth a net Rs 1,171.71 crore. Domestic institutional investors (DIIs) also bought shares worth Rs 768.94 crore in the last trading session.
