Bhatkhande Sanskriti University Centenary Year Celebration: CM Yogi said – The soul of the nation lies in culture, Omkar is the first sound of creation.

Lucknow. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stressed that the soul of the nation lies in its culture. He said that just as a human being’s soul breaks its connection with his body, the body becomes lifeless, similarly it happens in the life of the nation as well. If the culture of any nation is separated from it, the nation becomes dull. He is reduced to ruins and loses his identity.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said in the inauguration program of the centenary year celebrations of Bhatkhande Sanskriti University on Thursday that this occasion is very important for us. According to him, due to the continuity that India’s art, voice and rhythm gave to its identity in the face of adverse circumstances, our eternal culture has been successful in establishing itself and moving forward in the world. He said that the art of an artist is a divine quality which we should not disrespect. Whatever genre an artist is associated with, he should be encouraged.

A cultural worker also contributes to nation building.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while congratulating on the inauguration of the centenary festival of Bhatkhande Culture University, said that this institution has given a new identity to the cultural consciousness, voice, rhythm and values ​​of India from generation to generation. He said that Bhatkhande Sanskriti University has not only preserved Indian music, dance, theater and fine arts in the last 100 years, but has also made them prestigious by connecting them with the modern educational system. He clarified that a cultural worker also plays an important role in nation building. In this direction, he expressed his gratitude for the contribution of all the dignitaries associated with Bhatkhande Sanskriti University. Chief Minister Yogi also paid tribute to Pandit Vishnu Narayan Bhatkhande on this occasion.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that in the year 1940, Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore had issued a letter addressing this institute as a university. He said that it is a matter of happiness that in accordance with the sentiments of Pandit Vishnu Narayan Bhatkhande, this institute could be given the status of a university. He said that the country became independent in the year 1947 and the Constitution came into force in the year 1950. After this, many governments came and went till the year 2017, but the then Governor Ram Naik communicated with Bhatkhande Institute regarding granting the status of university. Chief Minister Yogi said that there was a delay in the proposal, there was continuous communication with the department and finally in the year 2022, the government recognized it as a university. This is the first cultural university of Uttar Pradesh. He met Vice Chancellor Prof. Praising Mandvi Singh, he said that the university’s anthem and logo were based on the theme ‘Nadadhinam Jagat’, which means the whole world is under the influence of sound. It reflects the truth of life.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the first sound of this creation is Omkar. Referring to Naad Yoga, he said that science, spirituality and culture all three confirm it. The vision of Bhatkhande Culture University is also that the entire world is under the influence of sound. He said that identifying this sound through different genres of music is a matter of spiritual practice. On honoring the former artists associated with the university, he said that these artists are not only making the tradition of Bhatkhande but also the cultural values ​​of Uttar Pradesh famous at the global level. On the release of the coffee table book, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that this book will serve as inspiration in the times to come. When the university is associated with the centenary of the country’s independence, this coffee table book will prove to be extremely relevant.

Remembered the contribution of Pandit Vishnu Narayan Bhatkhande

Recalling the contribution of Pandit Vishnu Narayan Bhatkhande, Chief Minister Yogi said that in the year 1926, the country was under colonial rule. At that time, freedom of expression was limited and platforms for music and art were not available. He said that during that period, Pandit Bhatkhande provided a scientific basis to Indian music. His historical contribution was to connect classical discipline, well-organized curriculum, classification of Raga-Taal, sequential method and Guru-Shishya tradition with modern education. This work was not only educational but also an attempt to give self-respect, self-respect and stability to Indian culture.

Mention of Kumbh 2019 and Maha Kumbh 2025

Chief Minister Yogi praised the address of Padma Vibhushan and former Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Sonal Mansingh and said that they presented the deep connection between art and spirituality in a very beautiful manner. He said that Lord Shiva is experienced in the form of Nataraja in dance, Mother Saraswati in the voice of Veena, the dignity of Lord Shri Ram in the dialogue of the drama and the flow of Shri Krishna while drowning in the juice. All this is available on the soil of Uttar Pradesh. According to Chief Minister Yogi, the government is committed to providing a safe, respectful and empowering environment to the artists. These works are being taken forward under a well-planned policy and Bhatkhande Sanskriti University is an important partner of the government in this.

Mentioned about the new form of music college and university in Hariharpur

Chief Minister Yogi said that in Bhatkhande Sanskriti University, integrated education is being given in all the three disciplines of singing, playing and dancing, from certificate to research. Diploma and graduate courses are also offered in drama and painting. Referring to the Music College established in Hariharpur, Azamgarh, he said that continuous efforts will be made to provide a platform to the students and expand cultural consciousness in the colleges affiliated to the university. He informed that the university has been provided about six acres of land in Lucknow, where the new campus will be developed as per global standards. It will have a modern auditorium, open theatre, rich library and other facilities. The old premises will be developed as a museum of music and art.

The centenary year celebrations were inaugurated with lighting of the lamp and offering of flowers to the statue of Pandit Vishnu Narayan Bhatkhande. On this occasion, a coffee table book ‘A Legacy of Excellence’ based on 100 years of development journey was released. A special cover and design prepared by the Department of Posts was also released. Also, the International Conference on ‘Indian Cultural Traditions and Music in the Context of Developed India @ 2047’ and the exhibition based on the Centenary Yatra was inaugurated.
