On the basis of secret information received by Superintendent of Police Aman Kumar, a container truck was seized near Anshu Hotel located at Bana Mahua along NH-39 in Meral police station area. Illegal English liquor worth about Rs 1 crore has been recovered from the truck. In this case the truck driver was arrested from the spot. DSP Chiranjeev Mandal, Inspector Santosh Kumar and station in-charge Vishnu Kant jointly gave this information in a press conference held at Meral police station premises on Thursday. Officials said that on the instructions of the Superintendent of Police, a special raid team was formed under the leadership of DSP Chiranjeev Mandal and the vehicles were being thoroughly checked.

Police arrested the driver Ganpat Ram from the spot. He is said to be a resident of Guda Malani police station area of ​​Barmer district of Rajasthan. DSP Chiranjeev Mandal said that a total of 25,440 pieces of English liquor have been recovered from the truck, the market value of which is estimated to be around Rs 1 crore.

Police say that the arrested driver is being interrogated thoroughly, so that the entire network related to liquor smuggling can be exposed.
