Double attack of severe cold and dense fog in North India, rain and snowfall in hilly areas; Know what is the condition of your city

Delhi-NCR These days, it is very cold in most areas of Northern India and there is also dense fog. People are facing a lot of trouble due to this. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that this situation may worsen in the coming days. Fog combined with cold is creating a double attack, which reduces visibility early in the morning and affects road, rail and air travel.

According to IMD, there may be snowfall with light rain in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan and Muzaffarabad on December 20 and 21. There is a possibility of light rain or snowfall at some places in Himachal Pradesh from 20 to 22 December. Similarly, light rain and snow may occur in Uttarakhand on 20th and 21st December. There are chances of light rain at isolated places in Punjab also during 20th to 22nd December. Snowfall in these hilly areas will further increase the cold and cold winds will blow in the plains as well.

Warning of dense fog and cold wave

The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of dense fog in many states. Dense fog may occur in the morning in some areas of Punjab on 19 and 20 December. There is a possibility of dense to very dense fog in the morning in Haryana and Chandigarh from 19 to 21 December. Later, dense fog may occur again in some parts of Punjab on 21, 24 and 25 December and in Haryana-Chandigarh on 22, 24 and 25 December. Dense to very dense fog is expected in the morning in Uttar Pradesh from 19 to 21 December, and dense fog may continue in some areas from 22 to 25 December. In Uttarakhand, there may be very dense fog at some places on 19 and 20 December and dense fog on 21 December. Apart from this, ‘Cold Day’ to ‘Severe Cold Day’ conditions may prevail in some parts of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand on 19 and 20 December, that is, people will feel very cold even during the day and will be seen shivering.

Fog alert in Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and other states also

Dense to very dense fog may occur in the morning in some areas of Bihar on 19th and 20th December, and the same will remain the case at some places on 21st-22nd December. There is a high possibility of dense fog in the morning in Jharkhand, Odisha, Ganga plains of West Bengal and North-East India from 19 to 22 December. Dense fog may occur in some parts of East Madhya Pradesh on 19-20 December. There were chances of cold wave in Western Madhya Pradesh on December 18.

Expected change in minimum temperature

According to IMD, the night temperature in north-west India will not change much in the next 24 hours. After that, there may be a gradual increase of 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in the next three days, and then there will be no major change. Temperature will remain stable in Maharashtra also, then it may increase by 2-3 degrees in the next five days. After a gradual increase of 2-3 degrees in Gujarat, a similar decline may occur in the next five days. There will be no significant change in the minimum temperature for the next seven days in the rest of the country.
