Ayushman Bharat Yojana: Gujarat becomes number 1 in claim settlement, patients are getting money on time
Ayushman Bharat Top State: Gujarat Government has achieved a new and historic achievement in the field of health services. Gujarat has become the top state in the country in timely settlement of claims under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.
The state government has not only expanded the coverage but has also made the process of cashless treatment extremely simple and fast. The credit for this success goes to the efficient leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and the technical improvements made in the health system.
Gujarat’s dominance in claim settlement
Gujarat has left the entire country behind in terms of paying medical claims to beneficiaries under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. According to the state government data, this achievement reflects the commitment to ensure timely and transparent medical treatment for citizens of all income groups.
Gujarat has the highest claim settlement rate, which is directly benefiting the poor and middle class families who were worried about the treatment expenses. Officials say that the efficiency of the state’s implementation system has brought it to the first position in the country.
Enhanced security cover up to Rs 10 lakh
The Gujarat government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, took a major decision in July 2023 by increasing the annual health insurance cover per family from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh. This move has provided a strong financial protection shield against serious and costly diseases to about 1.2 crore families in the state.

Large network of hospitals and specialized facilities
A huge network of hospitals has been created for the successful operation of this scheme in Gujarat. Currently 2,090 hospitals in the state are empaneled under the scheme, including 1,132 government and 958 private hospitals.
By November 2025, beneficiaries will be able to avail 2,299 different medical procedures and 50 specialized referral services through this scheme. Even in government hospitals, high quality services like private hospitals are being provided, which has increased the confidence of the general public.

New scheme for employees and pensioners
While expanding the scope of this scheme, the Gujarat government has not limited it to only the poor. In May 2025, the state government has launched ‘Karmayogi Swasth Suraksha Yojana’ for all government officers, employees and pensioners. Started.
With this expansion, Gujarat has now become the first state in the country to provide high level health care to its citizens and service workers alike. Due to timely payment of claims, private hospitals are also showing readiness in admitting patients.
