Codeine cough syrup case: CM Yogi made a strong attack on Akhilesh, said – the arrested accused have links with SP

Lucknow, 19 December. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, targeting the state’s main opposition party Samajwadi Party (SP) over the illegal trade of codeine cough syrup, on Friday said that the investigation into the matter is going on and all the people caught so far have links with the SP.

In response to a question while talking to journalists while entering Vidhan Bhavan before the beginning of the winter session of the Assembly, Yogi Adityanath said, “Our investigation is going on and all the people caught so far have links with the Samajwadi Party.” Let the investigation be done, milk will turn into milk and water into water.

He said, “The Samajwadi Party is already notorious and its involvement in this entire matter will come to light.” Yogi Adityanath said, “A state-level Special Investigation Team (SIT) is working to investigate this matter, which includes officials from Uttar Pradesh Police and FSDA (Food Safety and Drug Administration). To whom the money from this illegal business has reached, all this will be revealed in the investigation.

Taking a dig at the statements of SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, the Chief Minister said, “I will only say this about him – ‘I kept on committing the same mistake again and again, there was dust on my face and I kept on cleaning the mirror.'” Yogi Adityanath said, “There are pictures of him (Akhilesh Yadav) also with the mafia. Let the investigation be done, milk of milk and water of water will be revealed.

Responding to another question, the Chief Minister said that he felt that there would be no action in the Assembly today as the sudden demise of an MLA would be mourned. However, he said that the House leader in the Legislative Council can respond to the issue. He also said that if any party member raises this issue outside the House, it will be answered there also.
