Relief to thousands of farmers from one-time settlement scheme

Haryana News: Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini presented the loan situation of the farmers of the state with complete transparency in the Assembly on the first day of the winter session. In response to a starred question by INLD’s Rania MLA Arjun Chautala, the Chief Minister said that more than 25.67 lakh farmers in the state are under the burden of agricultural loans worth about Rs 60,816 crore. The Chief Minister said that the government is well aware of the condition of the farmers and is continuously taking steps in their interest.

Figures till September 30 tabled in the House

According to the report presented by the government, as of September 30, a total of 25,67,467 farmers in Haryana have outstanding agricultural loans worth Rs 60,816 crore. CM Nayab Singh Saini clarified that under the policies of the Central and State Government, farmers are being given exemption in interest on agricultural loans, so that they can get financial relief.

Relief to thousands of farmers from one-time settlement scheme

The Chief Minister told the House that under the One Time Settlement Scheme implemented in the year 2019, benefits amounting to Rs 1,348.40 crore were given to 3,08,302 farmers. Whereas in the year 2022, relief of Rs 66.01 crore was provided to 17,847 farmers. Keeping in mind the interest of farmers, this scheme has now been extended till 31 March 2026.

District wise loan situation also made public

District wise figures were also shared in the report. According to this, agricultural loans of Rs 5,934 crore are outstanding on 2,71,317 farmers in Hisar district, Rs 4,673 crore on 2,02,544 farmers in Karnal and Rs 3,814 crore on 1,72,860 farmers in Bhiwani district. The Chief Minister said that making the reports of all the districts public shows the transparent working style of the government.

Further decisions will be taken in the interest of farmers

CM Nayab Singh Saini assured that the government will seriously consider implementing one-time settlement scheme and other interest waiver schemes, if necessary, in the interest of farmers. He said that the aim of the state government is to economically empower the farmers and reduce their problems.

Discussion in the House on the status of schools

During this time, there was an uproar in the Assembly regarding the poor condition of government schools and colleges of Haryana. Former Education Minister and Jhajjar MLA Geeta Bhukkal raised the issue of Nehru College and Government College of Matanhail and accused the officials of misleading the government.

Further action on no-confidence motion

Assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan said that the no-confidence motion of Congress has been accepted. Under this, a discussion will be organized on Friday. The government under the leadership of CM Nayab Singh Saini made it clear that all necessary steps are being taken for the development of the state and in the interest of farmers.
