Blood deal for Rs 4500! Big update regarding transfusion of HIV positive blood to innocent children in government hospital
Satna: A shocking, disturbing and frightening case has come to light from Satna district of Madhya Pradesh. Here in the district hospital, six innocent children aged between 3 to 15 years suffering from thalassemia were given blood transfusion without mandatory testing, which were later found to be HIV infected. Due to this serious negligence, all the children became HIV positive.
Parents report negative
This matter is being said to have taken place between January and May 2025, but the surprising thing is that efforts were made to suppress this truth for months. It has become clear in the investigation that the parents of the children are HIV negative and the infection spread only through blood transfusion. The question arises that when screening is mandatory in every blood bank, then how did this fatal mistake happen?
What action was taken on the matter
After the matter gained momentum, the health department came into action. An investigation committee has been formed under the chairmanship of Dr. Yogesh Bharsat, CEO of Ayushman Bharat. The blood bank in-charge and two lab technicians have been suspended, while a show cause notice has been issued to the former civil surgeon. But the question still remains, will the future of children be secured by mere suspension?
