‘Ram even in Haram…’ BJP angry over AAP leader’s statement in Parliament, huge ruckus in the House at midnight

AAP MP Sanjay Singh Ram-Haram Statement in Rajya Sabha: ‘VB-G RAM G’ During the discussion on the bill, a statement by Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh raised the political temperature. Speaking in the Rajya Sabha, Sanjay Singh said that ‘Ram’s name should have character, otherwise Ram is written in Haraam also.’ There was a sharp reaction to his statement in the House and this statement was discussed outside the House also. Along with the passing of the bill in the Rajya Sabha at midnight, this controversial comment started a new political battle for the opposition and the parties.

BJP also did not delay in retaliating on this sharp attack of Sanjay Singh. Union Minister Prahlad Joshi expressed strong objection to this statement and said that Congress and its allies have never had any reverence for Lord Ram, his existence and the temple. He accused the opposition of indulging in appeasement politics and said that the public is now showing them their rightful place. This war of words intensified during the discussion on the bill.

At midnight ‘Ram’ rage on name

Amidst the huge uproar and this controversial rhetoric, ‘Developed India – Guarantee for Employment and Livelihood Mission (Rural)’ That means VB-G RAM G Bill 2025 was passed by Rajya Sabha by voice vote. This new law will now replace MNREGA, under which rural families will get guaranteed employment for 125 days in a year instead of 100. Earlier, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had answered the opposition’s questions in the Lok Sabha and there too a 14-hour long discussion took place.

Opposition walkout and protest

Before the bill was passed, opposition MPs had demanded to send it to the Select Committee, which the government did not accept. In protest against this, the opposition walked out of the House and sat on strike in the Parliament premises at midnight after the bill was passed. Congress has warned that they will continue to oppose this bill. This bill will become law after the approval of the President, but Sanjay Singh’s ‘Ram in Haram’ Politics is not going to stop on this statement.
