Uttam Saha has responded to the news of defamation case. He told TOI, ‘I have not received any official letter or document yet. When I get them, I will give all my answers legally. However, it should be remembered that thousands of football fans here have been deprived of their rights. My fan club is a unique one, and I will always protect it to the best of my ability.

Ganguly was to appear on the stage along with Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and other dignitaries on December 13 to felicitate Argentine football star Lionel Messi and his entourage. But the event was canceled due to Messi leaving the stadium prematurely and widespread violence by spectators at the Salt Lake Stadium.
