Betting App Case: Properties of these legends including Yuvraj Singh, Sonu Sood seized, ED took action in the case related to illegal betting app.
Delhi. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached the properties of former Indian cricketers Yuvraj Singh and Robin Uthappa as well as former Trinamool Congress MP Mimi Chakraborty and actor Sonu Sood in a money laundering case linked to an ‘illegal’ betting app, estimated to be worth over Rs 1,000 crore.
Official sources gave this information on Friday. Sources said that after the Central Investigation Agency issued an interim order under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), the properties of actress Neha Sharma, mother of model and actress Urvashi Rautela and Bengali actor Ankush Hazra have also been attached.
He said that the attached properties include Sood’s properties worth about Rs 1 crore, Chakraborty’s properties worth Rs 59 lakhs, Yuvraj Singh’s properties worth Rs 2.5 crores, Sharma’s properties worth Rs 1.26 crores, Uthappa’s properties worth Rs 8.26 lakhs, Hazra’s properties worth Rs 47 lakhs and Rautela’s mother’s properties worth Rs 2.02 crores.
All these people were questioned by the ED in the past and these assets have been classified as “proceeds of crime” of the alleged illegal betting app registered in the island nation of Curaçao. Some time ago, ED had seized assets worth Rs 11.14 crore of former cricketers Shikhar Dhawan and Suresh Raina as part of this investigation.
