Maruti WagonR production : Maruti Suzuki WagonR has set a new record in terms of production. The company’s managing director and CEO Hisashi Takeuchi announced that a total of 35 lakh units of WagonR have been completed. It is noteworthy that in August 2025, this model had also crossed the milestone of 1 crore sales globally. Famous for its ‘Tall-boy’ design and excellent mileage, this car is now taking a big step in the direction of Inclusive Mobility.

‘Swivel seat’ for the elderly
Maruti Suzuki has introduced a rotating front passenger seat option for its Wagon R hatchback, which is designed to make getting in and out of the vehicle easier for senior citizens and physically challenged people. On this occasion, Maruti Suzuki has introduced this solution in collaboration with startup TRUEAssist Technology. A special swivel seat has been launched which rotates outwards, making it easier for people with knee pain or mobility impairments to sit.

Initially, this pilot project is available at over 200 Arena dealers across 11 cities and will be expanded further based on customer response.

The swivel seat kit retrofit is available on 2019 and later model year Wagon R units. Installation takes less than an hour and requires no changes to the car’s structure. This procedure does not require replacement of the factory-fitted seat. The Wagon R’s tall-boy design already makes it easy to get in and out of the car, and the rotatable seat option makes this convenience even better.
