CSK shares Prashant Veer’s fiery first look, VIDEO of pre-auction trial goes viral

Young all-rounder Prashant Veer from Uttar Pradesh had created history in the IPL 2026 mini-auction. The 20-year-old player, who came with a base price of Rs 30 lakh, was bought by Chennai Super Kings for Rs 14.20 crore and became the joint most expensive uncapped player in IPL auction history.

Now meanwhile, CSK has shared the pre-auction trial video of Prashant Veer on its social media account, which went viral in no time. Prashant Veer’s aggressive style is clearly visible in this 19-second clip shared on Thursday, December 18. This left-handed batsman batted with equal fearlessness against pacers, spinners and throwdown specialists.

Prashant Veer had earlier made headlines with his stormy batting in the UP T20 League 2025. His performance had already created a stir in the cricket circuit of Uttar Pradesh, but the huge amount received in the IPL auction made him recognized across the country overnight.

CSK is considering Prashant Veer as a possible successor to Ravindra Jadeja. Jadeja was traded by the franchise to Rajasthan Royals after almost a decade before the IPL 2026 auction. In such a situation, Chennai now seems to be laying the foundation of its future on a young all-rounder like Prashant Veer.

Prashant Veer was selected as the Emerging Player of the Season of the UP T20 League in the 2025 season. He scored 320 runs in 10 innings for Noida Super Kings, in which his average was 64 and strike rate was more than 155. Apart from this, in bowling also he took 8 wickets in 8 innings, with an average of 21.75 and an excellent economy of 6.69.

This viral video of the pre-auction trial clearly indicates that the player on whom CSK has played a big bet is ready to prove his worth not just by name but by strong performance.
