Negligent contractors will be punished, laxity in work will not be tolerated: District Magistrate

KaushambiWith the aim of ensuring quality and timeliness in the development works in the district, District Magistrate Dr, Amit Pal held an important meeting with the executive officers of the municipal bodies at Udayan Auditorium today, During the review, the DM took a tough stand and made it clear that strict action would be taken against the officers and contractors who show any kind of negligence or laxity in the development works, The District Magistrate checked the progress of the ongoing works under the Mukhyamantri Nagar Srijan Yojana, Pandit Deendayal Nagar Vikas Yojana, 15th Finance Commission, Urban Drinking Water, Sewerage Drainage and Vandan Yojana, The DM expressed deep displeasure over the work of sewerage and city creation scheme not yet starting in Nagar Panchayat Dara Nagar-Karadham, He directed the concerned EO to start the work within a week and take action against the negligent contractor, All bodies were directed to ensure that the construction works are not only completed on time, but their quality is as per the standards, The slow progress of revenue collection was also discussed in the meeting, When the recovery was found to be less than the target in Karari, Bharwari and Azhuva bodies, the District Magistrate strongly reprimanded the executive officers and directed them to make improvements as soon as possible,

Helpline number will be issued for public problems. DM has asked to implement a new system for cleanliness and redressal of public complaints. The cleanliness system of municipal bodies will be monitored daily through the control room. Each body will issue a dedicated mobile number on which common citizens can register complaints related to cleanliness. Grievances should be resolved not only on paper but on the ground in a quality manner. “Delay in resolving public problems is unforgivable. Complete maintenance works on priority and ensure that the public does not have to wander for basic facilities.”Dr. Amit Pal, District Magistrate

On this occasion, Additional District Magistrate Shalini Prabhakar, Deputy District Magistrate Yogesh Kumar, District Development Officer Shailendra Vyas and executive officers of all the bodies and employees of related departments were present.
