‘Two and a half years’ Siddaramaiah’s U-turn on the deal? DK’s ‘Dinner Diplomacy’ CM said in between – never said

Karnataka Politics: There has been an earthquake once again in the politics of Karnataka. Amidst the ongoing tug of war regarding the Chief Minister’s chair, CM Siddaramaiah has given such a statement which has created a stir in the political circles. While on one hand Deputy CM DK Shivakumar is talking about ‘Dinner Diplomacy’ While Siddaramaiah stood in the Assembly and made it clear that he would remain on the chair for the full five years. He has completely rejected the formula of being CM for two and a half years, due to which the market of speculation has become heated.

The Chief Minister clarified in the Assembly that he has been elected by the public for five years and he will remain in office as long as the party high command orders. Most importantly, he has denied any kind of power-sharing agreement with Deputy CM DK Shivakumar. This statement has come at a time when recently in Belagavi, senior minister Satish Jarkiholi had organized a special dinner for MLAs considered close to Siddaramaiah, which is also being seen as a show of strength.

The real truth about dinner

More than 30 MLAs attended the dinner organized by Minister Satish Jarkiholi at a hotel in Belagavi. Although it was described as a normal meeting during the winter session, but inside news is that serious issues like party strategy and unity were discussed there. This dinner was also important because several rounds of meetings have taken place between Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar in recent times, which also included discussions over breakfast. Observers believe that the purpose of these meetings was to reduce the ongoing internal strife regarding leadership and to show unity in the party.
