Traveling from Delhi to Prayagraj will be easy! 5th phase of DME will be connected to Ganga Expressway; The luck of the people of these cities will shine
Delhi-It may take another 6 months to complete the work on the 5th phase of Meerut Expressway. This means the work on Phase 5 is running behind schedule. The work of this phase was to be completed by December this year, but it could not happen. The reason for this is said to be the repeated stuckness due to farmers’ protests and disputes related to compensation, whereas the work on this project had started many years ago. Now for the fourth time the date of completion of Phase 5 has been extended.
NHAI Officials say that most of the problems have been resolved and the pace of work has been increased. Measurement of land of some farmers is still pending, which will be completed soon. It is expected that this phase will be ready by April next year. The special thing about the fifth phase is that Delhi-Meerut Expressway will be connected to Ganga Expressway in Meerut. After this, people of Delhi, Ghaziabad, Noida and surrounding districts will have easy access to Ganga Expressway and will be able to travel directly to Prayagraj. This is expected to provide relief to thousands of people commuting daily.
Construction work remained closed for several months
It is being told that about 80 percent work of this phase has been done. This section passes through villages like Shakarpur, Narhaida, Dhakauli, Salempur, Chandsara, Khanpur, Nagalapatu, Chudiyala, Talhaita and Jainuddinpur. Earlier, the target was set to complete the work by December 2023, but due to the farmers’ agitation, its construction work remained stopped for several months. After this, a plan was made to complete the work by 2024, but the compensation dispute in Ghaziabad and Meerut could not be resolved.
About 10 kilometers of road is ready
The construction agency has claimed that till now 10 big and 12 small underpasses, 35 culverts and about 10 kilometers of road have been ready. Work is going on on the remaining 4.6 kilometer road. Overall this phase is 14.6 kilometers long, of which Meerut’s portion is 9.13 kilometers and Ghaziabad’s 5.47 kilometers. This phase will pass through 7 villages of Meerut and three villages of Ghaziabad. NHAI Project Director Arvind Kumar says that the work is being done at a fast pace and efforts are being made to complete it within the stipulated time. He claims that after this phase is ready, it will make people’s travel easier and faster, which will provide great relief to the people.
