ChatGPT now has its own app store
ChatGPT is no longer just a place to ask questions. OpenAI has launched an app store inside ChatGPT.
This new feature lets developers build their own apps that work directly within ChatGPT. These apps can add tools and features that ChatGPT may not offer on its own.
If a user feels ChatGPT is missing something, they can go to the app store and look for an app that does the job. OpenAI has opened its ChatGPT SDK for developers. This means developers can now create apps that live inside the ChatGPT interface itself.
Right now, this system is still being tested. Developers who build an app must submit it to OpenAI’s Developer platform. The app will only become available after approval. OpenAI said approved apps are expected to start showing up inside ChatGPT by 2026. The goal is to slowly expand what ChatGPT can do.
According to OpenAI, these apps can perform actions for users. They can search private data. They can run deep research across multiple sources. They can also keep information updated in a shared workspace.
ChatGPT is also working on integrating popular third party services. These include platforms like Spotify, Canva, and Booking.com.
With this move, ChatGPT is shifting its identity. It is no longer just an AI chatbot. It is turning into an all in one platform where users can chat, create, research, and take action in one place.
