Leave rules for ‘teachers’ become strict in Bihar, instructions issued
Patna. Now big changes will be seen in the school environment of Bihar regarding holidays. For a long time, teachers used to depend on phone calls or WhatsApp messages to take leave, but now the education department has imposed strict rules on this. After rigging, secret recommendations and arbitrary operations came to light during the inspection, Additional Chief Secretary Dr. B. New guidelines have been issued on the orders of Rajender.
The process of taking leave will be strict
According to the new order, now it is mandatory for all government teachers to follow “Bihar Teachers Leave New Rules”. It will now be impossible to take leave without written application and prior approval. This rule will apply equally to all schools at primary, middle and higher secondary level.
Different rules in primary and secondary
Head teachers in primary schools can now grant leave to only one teacher in a day. At the same time, in middle and higher secondary schools, headmasters will be allowed to give leave to only a maximum of 10% of the teachers together. Apart from this, it will be mandatory to take permission from a higher authority to grant more leave to a teacher.
Control over casual leave also
In case of emergency, teachers can give information through mobile or WhatsApp, but it will be necessary to give formal application a day in advance. Under the Act, a maximum of 16 days of casual leave will be available in a year. Newly appointed teachers will get 1.33 days leave per month. Special Casual Leave can be taken only once in a month and for a maximum of two consecutive days.
Leave record and discipline
Head teachers and principals will now have to maintain separate records of each teacher in the leave register. This will not only increase the transparency of holidays, but will also revive the long lost discipline in the education system.
This initiative of Bihar Education Department is being considered an important step towards bringing discipline and transparency in the leave management of teachers. Now the era of taking leave based on arbitrariness, setting and factionalism is going to end, and smooth and orderly administration will be established in schools.
