Boxing Competition: The game of Lucknow boxers paled in front of the visiting boxers, had to be satisfied with the silver medal.

Lucknow, Read: In the state level senior boxing competition organized at Lucknow Boxing Hall located at KD Singh Babu Stadium, the guest boxers performed brilliantly and captured most of the gold medals. The competition was organized under the supervision of Sports Directorate and Uttar Pradesh Boxing Association. Host Lucknow got only one silver medal, which was won by Piyush Patel in the 50–55 kg weight category.

The final matches were inaugurated by AYUSH Minister Daya Shankar Mishra. He encouraged the winners and runners-up by giving them medals. On this occasion, General Secretary of Uttar Pradesh Boxing Association Pramod Kumar, Secretary of Lucknow Boxing Association Sahdev, Regional Sports Officer Atul Sinha and other sports officials were present. In the competition, boxers from various districts including Agra, Varanasi, Meerut, Devipatan, Gorakhpur performed strongly and won gold medals.

47–50 kg: Gold Rishi Singh (Varanasi), Silver- Mukesh (Agra), Bronze- Ankit Pal (Prayagraj), Sameer Ul Haq (Jhansi)

50–55 kg: Gold- Manish Rathore (Agra), Silver- Piyush Patel (Lucknow), Bronze- Himanshu Pathak (Bareli), Piyush Tomar (Meerut)

55–60 kg: Gold- Karan (Agra), Silver- Mo. Faiz (Varanasi), Bronze- Ajit Pandey (Mirzapur), Deepak Kumar (Bareilly)

60–65 kg: Gold- Abhishek Yadav (Devipatan), Silver- Abhinav Tomar (Meerut), Bronze- Sumit Singh (Agra), Lakshya Kumar (Saharanpur)

65–70 kg: Gold- Aman Rathore (Agra), Silver- Vikas Chauhan (Gorakhpur), Bronze- Vishal Tomar (Meerut), Tejas (Saharanpur)
