Third Test between Australia and England: Cummins’ brilliant performance

Desk. The third Test match of the Ashes series between Australia and England continues at the prestigious ground of Adelaide. In this match, the Australian team has set a huge target of 435 runs to England. By the end of the fourth day’s play, England had scored 207 runs losing 6 wickets. The Australian side currently appears to be in a strong position in the match, major credit for which goes to captain Pat Cummins.

Cummins’ record breaking performance

Pat Cummins had taken three wickets in the first innings against England and so far he has taken three wickets in the second innings also. Thus, he has taken a total of 6 wickets in this match. Along with this, he has achieved the important milestone of 150 wickets while being the captain in Test cricket. With this achievement, Cummins has become the second Test captain to take more than 150 wickets while captaining the Test team. Before him, this achievement was achieved by former Pakistan captain Imran Khan, who took 187 wickets as captain.

Australia’s success under Cummins’ captaincy

Pat Cummins took charge of the Australian team in 2021 and since then he has performed excellently for the team. Under his leadership, Australia has taken 151 wickets in 38 Test matches, including 9 five-wicket hauls. Cummins made his debut in Test cricket in 2011 and since then he has become an important part of the Australian team. Till now, he has taken a total of 315 wickets in 72 Test matches. The accuracy and strength of his bowling has been effective against all batsmen.
