Whether the ticket is paper or phone, read these 5 important railway rules before boarding the train, otherwise there may be a problem.

News India Live, Digital Desk: Indian Railways is not just a means of transportation but is a lifeline for millions of people. Crores of people travel through it every day. Nowadays, along with physical tickets, people are also using digital tickets a lot. But do you know that both types of tickets have their own different rules? To make your journey comfortable and hassle-free, you must be aware of all these rules, otherwise you may have to face unnecessary difficulties in the train. Physical ticket and its rules: When you buy a ‘physical’ i.e. paper ticket from the railway counter or from an authorized agent, it is very important to keep a few things in mind: Keep the original copy with you: You must always keep the original copy of your ticket with you during the journey. Photocopy or photograph taken on mobile is often not considered valid. TTE Checking: It is mandatory to show your physical ticket to the Travel Ticket Examiner (TTE) in the train when they check the ticket. Non-Transferable: Physical tickets are often not transferable, that is, no other person can travel on that ticket unless special rules of the Railways allow it. Lost: If the physical ticket gets lost, it can be a problem. The rules for re-issuing it are strict, and you may also have to pay a fine for it. Digital ticket (e-ticket/mobile ticket) and its rules: Nowadays, most of the people use digital tickets, like e-tickets booked from IRCTC or mobile tickets. Their rules are slightly different: Show on mobile: The biggest convenience of a digital ticket is that you do not need to print it out. You can also show the ticket to the TTE on your smartphone or laptop. Valid ID Proof: It is very important to carry a valid photo ID proof (like Aadhar Card, Voter ID, PAN Card, Driving License) while traveling with a digital ticket. TTEs do ask for ID proof, and without it your ticket will not be considered valid. PPR Number/Ticket SMS: Sometimes the ticket SMS is also considered valid, which contains the PNR number and journey details. Boarding Station: Your boarding station is also written on the digital ticket, and the journey has to be started from there, unless you get it changed first. Make sure to keep all these things in mind before your next train journey. Be it physical or digital ticket, complete information will save you hassles and make your journey pleasant.
