Was the postponement of Shriram Raghavan’s Twenty One costly? Dinesh Vijan reveals a big secret about Dhurandhar

News India Live, Digital Desk: Nowadays, timing of releasing films in Bollywood has become a big art. Sometimes producers have to move the dates of their films back and forth to avoid clashes between two big films. Recently, well-known filmmaker Dinesh Vijan has decided to postpone his upcoming ambitious film ‘Ikis’. It stars Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agasatya Nanda in the lead role, and is being directed by ‘Andhadhun’ fame Sriram Raghavan. The reason behind the postponement of this film is quite interesting, which has been explained by Dinesh Vijan himself. ‘Ikkis’ is not an ordinary film. It is a period war drama based on the life of Param Vir Chakra winner Second Lieutenant Arun Khetrapal. Such films require the audience’s full attention and a special kind of atmosphere. Dinesh Vijan told that he has postponed this film because of ‘Dhurandhar’, which is another film of his production house. On a big occasion like Vijayadashami, films like ‘Dhurandhar’ can make good collections, but Dinesh Vijan feels that ‘Ikkis’ is a film which needs some ‘space to breathe’. He says, “This is not an ordinary entertainer. It is an inspirational story of a Param Vir Chakra winner of the Indian Army. It cannot be released at a time where people have different expectations. This film requires full time and attention.” As a producer, Dinesh Vijan wants to ensure that ‘Ikkis’ gets the right respect and attention. He believes that some films are not just for box office collection, but they need a special space to make their place in the hearts of the audience. Agasatya Nanda is also debuting with this film, so obviously, the team wants this film to be remembered for its content and Agasatya’s performance. So now we will have to wait a little longer for ‘Ikkis’, so that when it is released, it can make an impact across Bollywood. This shows how much thought a producer has to put into making a film reach the audience in the right way.
