90 lakh farmers are waiting for Rs 2,000 amid rumors of names being removed
Namo Shetkari Yojana 8th Installment Update: Farmers across Maharashtra are eagerly waiting for the eighth installment, under which the state government provides Rs 1,000 per instalment. On the other hand, the central and state governments are constantly bringing new schemes to strengthen agriculture and provide direct income support to farmers. Recent rumors of large-scale deletion of names of beneficiaries have left them worried.
The Namo Shetkari Maha Samman Nidhi Yojana of the Government of Maharashtra works in conjunction with the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana and benefits lakhs of farmers every year. Currently, more than 9 lakh farmers are waiting for the next installment of Rs 2,000. Yet, uncertainty has increased after reports emerged that names of nearly 6 lakh farmers have been removed from the beneficiary list.
The news of removal of names has created confusion among the farmers.
After the release of the 21st installment of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi about a month ago, a situation of confusion arose. In Maharashtra, 92.84 lakh farmers got benefits under the 20th instalment, but the number of beneficiaries declined in the 21st instalment. This led to speculation that similar cuts could be made in the Namo Shetkari scheme, which increased anxiety among farmers waiting for the 8th instalment.
Multiple reports said that around 6 lakh names have been removed from the list of beneficiaries, causing concern among beneficiaries dependent on this financial assistance.
Government’s clarification: No major cut in the list of beneficiaries
The concerned department has strongly refuted these claims and termed the reports as misleading. According to official sources, a total of 90,41,241 farmers are eligible to receive the 8th installment of Namo Shetkari. Officials clarified that benefits can be stopped only if KYC, Aadhaar linking, bank details or eligibility conditions are incomplete or incorrect.
Officials have reiterated that farmers who have fulfilled all the mandatory conditions will not face any problem in receiving the installment.
How to check Namo Shetkari beneficiary status online?
Farmers can easily check whether their name is in the beneficiary list by visiting the official website at testdbtnsmny.mahaitgov.in. After choosing the beneficiary status option, they can search using their registration number, Aadhaar number or mobile number. After entering the details, farmers will have to complete the Aadhaar linked OTP verification to see their complete status.
The most important information to check is the e-KYC status. If it shows “Successful”, the installment will be credited without any delay. If it shows “Pending”, farmers are advised to complete the process immediately to avoid payment related issues.
Possible date of 8th installment of Namo Shetkari
Earlier, the 20th installment of PM Kisan was released on August 2, 2025, followed by the 7th installment of Namo Shetkari about a month later. This time, although the 21st installment of PM Kisan Yojana has been released, no official announcement has been made regarding the 8th installment of Namo Shetkari Yojana.
However, based on past trends and administrative timelines, the installment of ₹2,000 is expected to be credited by the end of December if the eligibility criteria are met.
