Modi is correcting decades of Congress’s mistakes, said the PM while inaugurating the new terminal building of Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati.

New Delhi. Prime Minister Modi today inaugurated the new terminal building of the Lok Sabha Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati. After this, while addressing the public meeting, PM said, Modi is correcting one by one the mistakes which Congress kept making for six-seven decades. Whether the Congress people go to the North-East or not, I feel like I am among my own people as soon as I come to the North-East and Assam. He said, for Modi, development of Assam is both a need, a responsibility and also an accountability. Today Assam is moving forward and creating new records. The Prime Minister said, the Congress governments and the people sitting in them used to say, who goes to Assam and the North-East? Congress used to say that why Assam and the Northeast need modern airports, highways and better railways? Because of this thinking, Congress ignored this entire area for decades.

Modi said, I am happy to know that Assam has become the number one state in the country in implementing the Indian Judicial Code. Assam has also created a new record by installing more than 50 lakh smart, prepaid meters. During the time of Congress, it was impossible to get a government job in Assam ‘without a slip and without any expense’, but today thousands of youth are getting jobs here ‘without a slip and without any expense’. Narendra Modi said, some time ago I had the privilege of unveiling the statue of Gopinath Bordoloi ji. Bordoloi ji was the first Chief Minister of Assam and was the pride of Assam. He never compromised with Assam’s identity, Assam’s future and Assam’s interests. This statue of his will continue to inspire the coming generations.

The Prime Minister said, Congress had conspired to destroy the identity of this place and this conspiracy is not of just a few years, the roots of this sin of Congress go back to before independence. The time when the Muslim League and the British government together were preparing the ground for the partition of India. At that time, a plan was made to make Assam a part of undivided Bengal i.e. East Pakistan. Congress was going to be a part of that conspiracy, then Gopinath Bordoloi ji stood against his party. He opposed this conspiracy to destroy the identity of Assam and saved Assam from separation from the country. BJP always rises above the party line and respects every patriot. When the government came under the leadership of Atal ji, he was given Bharat Ratna.

Modi said, BJP always respects every patriot by rising above the party line. Gopinath Bordoloi ji had saved Assam before independence but after him Congress again started anti-Assam, anti-national work. Congress hatched conspiracies of religious appeasement to create its vote bank. In Bengal and Assam, infiltrators with their vote banks were given a free hand, the demography here was changed. These infiltrators captured our forests and lands. The result was that the security and identity of entire Assam was at stake. Today, Himanta ji’s government and all his team members are working very hard to free the resources of Assam from this illegal and anti-national encroachment. Work is being done on every line to make the resources of Assam useful to the people of Assam.
