Gill and Shivam Dubey leave, Ishaan and Rinku get a chance. Indian team comes forward for 5 T20 matches against New Zealand.

A 3-match ODI and 5-match T20 series is to be played between India and New Zealand (IND vs NZ) next month. Indian team is currently playing a 5-match T20 series against South Africa. The last match of this series is now to be played in Ahmedabad. The final match of the 5-match T20 series between India and South Africa (IND vs SA) is to be played today in Ahmedabad.

Along with this, Team India will start preparations for its ICC T20 World Cup 2026 from the New Zealand Cricket Team series to be held from next month. Some big changes will be seen in the Indian team.

Shubman Gill and Shivam Dubey leave from Team India

Indian team’s vice-captain Shubman Gill is being given a chance in Team India continuously since Asia Cup 2025. Shubman Gill has not been able to do anything special in the last 15 matches, so now this player can be shown the way out keeping in mind the T20 World Cup 2026.

The second name in this list is that of Shivam Dubey, Shivam Dubey has definitely bowled some good overs when needed, but he has failed to score runs with the bat. Shivam Dubey has not performed anything special against any big team after the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 final, so his place in Team India does not seem to be getting made.

Ishan Kishan and Rinku Singh get a chance

The biggest contender to play for the Indian team in place of Shivam Dubey is Rinku Singh, Rinku Singh is a match finisher who is adept at hitting big shots. Rinku Singh is being constantly ignored under the coaching of Gautam Gambhir, but this player has shown his talent when given a chance, in such a situation, Rinku Singh can be given a chance in Team India in place of Shivam Dubey.

Whereas in place of Shubman Gill, India has an opener batsman in the form of Sanju Samson, but the kind of performance Ishan Kishan has been doing for the last 2 years, he should be given a chance in Team India. Ishan Kishan has just won the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for Jharkhand under his captaincy, while he has become the first player to score the highest 500 runs in the tournament.
