IND vs SA: Big update on refund after cancellation of Lucknow T20, now how and where will we get the ticket money back? Know here
Lucknow T20I Ticket Refunds Update: Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) has given a big relief to thousands of cricket fans who returned disappointed after the cancellation of India vs South Africa (IND vs SA) fourth T20 match on Wednesday, 17 December. The association has officially announced that due to the match being canceled without a toss, the spectators will be given 100% refund of their tickets.
After the match was washed out due to dense fog and low visibility at the Ekana Stadium, UPCA has now issued detailed guidelines for refunds both online and offline.
Relief to IND vs SA online ticket holders
Visitors who had booked tickets online will not need to go anywhere for a refund. According to UPCA, the entire ticket amount will be refunded through the same mode through which the payment was made. That is, the money for tickets purchased through UPI, debit/credit card or net banking will be returned directly to the respective account. Refund information will be sent to the viewers’ registered email ID, so fans are advised to check their emails regularly.
IND vs SA dates fixed for offline ticket holders
Spectators who had purchased offline tickets from the stadium counter will have to come to the box office located at Gate No. 2 of Ekana Stadium on December 20, 21 and 22. Refund counters will be open from 11 am to 6 pm. Offline ticket holders must bring with them the original ticket and a copy of the government identity card. Bank details will have to be filled by filling a refund form on the spot, after which the amount will be transferred directly to the bank account on completion of verification.
An ‘unfortunate’ record added to Ikana’s name
This match was also disappointing for Ekana Stadium. This was the first T20 International to be played here on the night of 17th December, but now it will be remembered with an unwanted record. Lucknow has become the first venue in India where an international match had to be canceled without a toss just because of fog.
