He said that due to electoral and political circumstances it has now become difficult for the states to fulfill the big promises made. Due to lack of budget, the pace of urban development is being affected and for this the cooperation of the Central Government has become very important.

Minister Vijayvargiya Urbanization and goals of developed India Emphasized the role of cities. He said that cities will play a decisive role in making India a developed nation by 2047. Cities will also have to shoulder the responsibility of development of their surrounding areas. For this, it is necessary to increase administrative capacity and make proper use of the schemes of the Central Government.

Talking about the financial situation, the Minister clarified that the budgets of the states are weak and the necessary resources to fulfill the election promises are not easily available. Due to this, many development works are affected and state governments expect assistance from the Centre.

amrit scheme But he said that many works are incomplete in most of the cities of the country. The budget has been cut by about 70 percent, due to which about 30 percent of the work is pending. Referring to the efforts being made towards a self-reliant Municipal Corporation, he said that the property mapping system has resulted in 150 percent increase in property tax. Besides, a 250 MW capacity solar plant is being developed in the energy sector, which will enable savings in electricity expenditure.

According to the minister, urban development budget challenge The solution is possible only with the cooperation of the Central and State Governments and this can speed up the pace of development of cities again.
