Illiteracy is the biggest obstacle in the development of Musahar society: Pappu Pandey
Kushinagar. “We will progress only when we study” program was organized on Sunday in village Jungle Bakulha under Padrauna block. The program was conducted under the patronage of senior social worker Deep Narayan Aggarwal and under the leadership of senior BJP leader Pappu Pandey. The program was conducted by BJP Mandal Vishunpura Minister Manoj Gond.
Addressing the program, Pappu Pandey said that the biggest obstacle in the overall development of Musahar society is illiteracy. He said that many public welfare schemes are being run by the government for the upliftment of Musahar community, but due to lack of literacy, a large section of the society is not able to take advantage of these schemes.
He said that today on one hand the country is moving towards reaching the moon in the 21st century, while on the other hand due to lack of education the Musahar community is becoming deprived of basic facilities, which is extremely worrying. The government is providing many facilities including schools and free education in Musahar settlements, yet carelessness is being taken in sending children to school.
Pappu Pandey stressed that unless the society educates itself and its children, overall development is not possible. India is moving towards becoming the third largest economy in the world, in such a situation, illiteracy of Musahar community is also a big obstacle in the development of the country. He said that educated Musahar community can play an important role not only in its development but also in nation building.
Referring to the difficulties faced by illiteracy in banks, government offices and other institutions, he appealed to the people present to take a pledge to educate their children as well as themselves. On this occasion, the people present took an oath to send their children to school 100% and to pursue education themselves. Pappu Pandey also announced that the family which is completely educated will be honored and rewarded.
Hundreds of people of Musahar community including Kailash Musahar, Tikri Musahar, Toofani Musahar, Rajendra Musahar, Jagdev Musahar, Subhavati, Bailey, Fekni, Reema, Neelam, Nagiya, Baijnath, Sarwan were present in the program.
