Manjhi’s statement heated up politics, openly hinted at the commission of MP-MLA
Union Minister and patron of Hindustan Awam Morcha (HAM) Jitan Ram Manjhi is in the news these days for his statements. During the party’s felicitation ceremony held in Gaya Ji on Sunday, he once again made such a statement which created a stir in the political circles. Manjhi told the open forum that all MPs and MLAs take commission in schemes and this is nothing new.
Fund of about Rs 5 crore under each scheme
He said that an MP gets a fund of about Rs 5 crore under each scheme. If 10 percent commission is taken in this, then this amount would be approximately Rs 40 lakh. He claimed that he himself has given money as commission to his party many times. He also said that he had even asked the party leaders to buy even a car with this money. According to him, he had said these things earlier also and now there is no hesitation in repeating them.
Jitan Ram Manjhi further said that if the party leaders are not able to make such arrangements then it is the responsibility of the party president. He also made it clear that the party should not face shortage of funds even in the year 2026. He said that if contributions are made from the MP Fund this time too, the party can get around Rs 80 lakh, which is not a small amount. Giving direct instructions to the party leaders, he said that if 10 percent commission is not possible then at least 5 percent should be taken and work should be done accordingly. He said that he has the strength and ability, all he needs is willpower.
Even though the crowd at the program was less than expected, Manjhi expressed his displeasure. He said that if the district president had arranged for five buses, which would have cost around Rs 2 lakh, the entire stadium could have been filled. He alleged that all parties make similar arrangements for transportation of their people and on the pretext of taking people from their community to visit and feed them, even if it costs five lakh rupees.
Manjhi’s big claim
Manjhi made a big claim regarding the upcoming elections. He said that the next target should be to win 100 seats. He said in a warning tone that if the party does not get 100 seats, they will move forward with a different flag. He asked the party president to start preparations and claimed that the support of the society is with him. Referring to various social groups, he talked about taking everyone along.
On this occasion, HAM’s national president Santosh Kumar Suman also gave a sharp statement from the stage. He accused a minister of Bihar government of betraying the party. Suman said that a mistake has been made in considering the party as weak and if this happens again, the party will not shy away from choosing its own path. He clearly said that the organization will move forward only if the party leadership is respected, otherwise the path ahead may be difficult.
