Good news for Delhiites: ‘Bansera Park’ rejuvenated, lush green lawns open for public
DELHI: Lush greenery all around, swans swimming in the pond, colorful flowers and sweet chirping of birds… If you are looking for such a relaxing and beautiful place for an event in Delhi, that too at affordable prices, then the wait is now over. A new attractive public space has been created for the people of Delhi on the banks of Yamuna. Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has opened the lush green lawns of Asita Park located near ITO for public events. People will be able to make online and offline bookings for wedding ceremonies, cultural programs, exhibitions and other events here. Asita Park is connected to Yamuna Riverfront. DDA has made several lawns of different areas available for public use in Asita Park.
Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has developed ‘Bansera Park’ under the Bansera Project in Sarai Kale Khan area in the national capital Delhi. It is built on the banks of Yamuni river. After the Bansera project, DDA has now opened the lawns of Asita Park on the banks of Yamuna for socio-cultural events. This means that the lush green lawns of Asita Park have also opened for the public. The lawn rent has been fixed at Rs 40 thousand to Rs 3.3 lakh.
According to DDA, Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has been continuously emphasizing that such safe, well-maintained and affordable venues should be developed within Delhi itself, so that people do not have to go outside the city and pay heavy fares for programs. Under this thinking, permission has been given to book various lawns of Asita Park on daily rent.
Cana Lawn: ₹1.40 lakh (2,860 sq m)
Buddha Lawn: ₹1.10 lakh (3,270 sq m)
Surya Lawn: ₹40,000 (800 sq m)
Café Lawn: ₹1.00 lakh (3,000 sq m)
Main Congregation Lawn: ₹2.90 lakh (8,900 sq m)
Circular Lawn: ₹3.30 lakh (13,720 sq m)
Keeping in mind the sensitivity of the Yamuna flood plains, strict environmental rules have been imposed on all events. Only eco-friendly temporary tent structures will be allowed. A maximum of three days will be given to install and remove them. Under special circumstances, the circular lawn can be used for a maximum of five days.
Like Delhi’s Bansera Park and Sundar Nursery, Asita Park is also very beautiful. This park is not limited to events only, but is also completely open to the general public. People can have a picnic here with family and friends, take a walk and enjoy the greenery on the banks of Yamuna. The entry fee for the general public has been kept at Rs 50, while the ticket price for children has been fixed at Rs 25. There will be no extra charge for car parking in the park.
