Plum Cake Recipe: Christmas means lots of happiness, lots of gifts and yummy cakes. Christmas celebration would remain incomplete without plum cake. Although plum cakes are easily available in the market, it tastes even better if prepared with hands at home. People who do not know baking may find it difficult to make plum cake, but today we will tell you the recipe to make it at home and easily and once you make it once, you will feel like making it again and again. So let us know the easy recipe of making plum cake.
Material
Raisins – ½ cup
Cashews (chopped) – ¼ cup
Almonds (chopped) – ¼ cup
Tutti-frutti / dates / figs – ¼ cup
Flour – 1½ cups
Baking powder – 1 tsp
Baking soda – ½ tsp
Cinnamon powder – ½ tsp
Nutmeg powder – a pinch
Clove powder – a pinch
Butter (without salt) – 100 grams
Brown sugar/powdered sugar – ¾ cup
Eggs – 2
Eggless option of curd – ½ cup + Milk – ¼ cup
Vanilla essence – 1 tsp
Milk – as per requirement
Method
1- Lightly mix all the dry fruits with 1–2 tbsp of flour (this will prevent them from settling down in the cake). Preheat the oven at 170°C for 10 minutes. Grease a cake tin with butter and sprinkle flour.
2- Beat butter and sugar until light and creamy. Add eggs one by one and keep beating. For eggless add curd + milk + vanilla and mix well.
3- Sieve flour, baking powder, soda and all the spices and mix them in the batter. Now add prepared dry fruits and mix gently.
4-Put the batter in the tin and bake at 170°C for 40–45 minutes. Insert a toothpick and check – if it comes out clean, the cake is ready. Let the cake cool, then cut.
5- If you want, you can first soak dry fruits in orange juice or apple juice. The taste of the cake becomes even better the next day. Garnish with cherries or almonds on top.
