Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s bat got upset, bad defeat from Pakistan in the final, could not have been imagined in dreams

IND vs PAK: The performance of India’s 14-year-old star Vaibhav Suryavanshi in the Under-19 Asia Cup final against Pakistan was disappointing. His performance with the bat was not good and while returning to the pavilion he had an altercation with Ali Raza. The fans were unhappy with Suryavanshi’s style of batting and criticized him for his behavior during the match. Suryavanshi had made a strong start to the tournament and was expected to play a key role in the final against Pakistan on Sunday, December 21. However, the pressure was on India as Pakistan scored 347 runs in their 50 overs thanks to Sameer Minhas’ brilliant inning of 172 runs off 113 balls.

Suryavanshi could not play big innings

Considering the difficult conditions for his team, Suryavanshi made an excellent start and hit three sixes and a four. They lost their captain and opening partner Ayush Mhatre early. Suryavanshi got a lease of life from Raza in the initial overs, but he could not take full advantage of it and in the end the Pakistani bowler won. Raza was very happy after getting the wicket and he took a dig at Suryavanshi who was returning to the pavilion. Suryavanshi also said a few words in response, pointing first towards the king and then towards the ground. Suryavanshi was out after scoring 26 runs in 10 balls. India lost 5 wickets in the power play.

Fans trolled Suryavanshi

Many fans did not like Suryavanshi’s poor performance and her attitude in the final and fans raised the issue as to why the 15-year-old player was playing so aggressively from the beginning. Most of the supporters said that he needs to play more intelligently in ODIs and improve his understanding of the game. Suryavanshi scored 261 runs in five matches at an average of 52.2 in the tournament. However, in both the matches played against Pakistan, he could score only 26 and 5 runs. In a match, when Suryavanshi played an innings of 171 runs in 95 balls, everyone expected that he would break his own record in this tournament, but he disappointed.

India lost by 191 runs

While chasing the huge target of 348 runs, the Indian team did not appear to be in control anywhere. Pakistan’s bowlers, in a disciplined and aggressive performance, all out the Indian team for 156 runs in just 26.2 overs and did not give them a chance to bat the entire 50 overs. Ali Raza was the best bowler for Pakistan, registering figures of 4/42 in 6.2 overs. Mohammad Syam supported him well with impressive figures of 2/38, Abdul Subhan 2/29 and Huzaifa Ahsan 2/12. This bowling pair destroyed the Indian batting order by taking wickets at regular intervals. India lost wickets continuously and at one point reached a difficult situation of 94/7 in 16.5 overs.
