Raipur News: After returning from the inter-state study tour of Rajasthan, a group of journalists from Chhattisgarh today met Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai at the Chief Minister’s residence in the capital Raipur. On this occasion, the journalists shared their experiences of the legislative, administrative functioning and innovations made in the field of tourism during their visit to Rajasthan from 15 to 20 December.
Chief Minister Sai said that the Chhattisgarh government has started an inter-state study tour program for journalists, so that the innovative efforts related to governance, tourism and cultural development of other states can be understood from the journalists’ point of view. He said that based on the experiences gained from such study tours, new and effective initiatives can be started in Chhattisgarh also.
The Chief Minister urged the journalists to record the experiences of this trip in the form of a travelogue, so that it would act as a useful guide for the common tourists. He said that the writings of journalists are not only a medium of information but also a powerful means of promoting tourism.
Highlighting the immense potential of tourism in the state, Chief Minister Sai said that the Chhattisgarh government is fully committed to the overall development of tourism. Specially mentioning Bastar region, he said that from the point of view of natural beauty, Bastar is like heaven on earth, but Naxalism has been a major obstacle in its development for a long time. The Chief Minister said that as per the resolve of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the state government is working with full determination towards rooting out Naxalism by March 2026.
Chief Minister Sai said that tourism has been included in the new industrial policy of the state. Under this, home-stay is being promoted in remote forest areas, so that tourists can live with rural families and experience their culture, food and lifestyle closely. This will not only encourage tourism but will also create new employment and income opportunities for the local people. He said that inclusion of Dhudmaras of Chhattisgarh in the 20 major tourist destinations of the world is a matter of pride for the state. Welcoming the suggestions given by the journalists, the Chief Minister said that they will be seriously considered and implemented.
On this occasion, Vijay Tripathi from Jashpur told that during his visit to Rajasthan, he got the opportunity to see the Legislative Assembly there, where a grand museum has been constructed to make the common people aware about the process of law making and the functioning of the Legislative Assembly. Through this museum, one gets an opportunity to understand the legislative journey from the formation of the state till the present and the contribution of historical personalities.

Vijay Khetrapal from Korba said that through this study tour, he got an opportunity to understand that hundreds of years old forts and palaces in Rajasthan have been developed as tourist centers by connecting them with modern public facilities. Along with this, tourism in desert areas has been given an attractive form through activities like jeep safari, camel riding, para-sailing, desert camps, which can be an effective case study for Chhattisgarh.

Arjun Jha of Jagdalpur, while sharing his experience of Chokardhani located in Jaipur, said that rural life, folk culture and food have been presented on one platform there. He suggested that similarly, the folk culture of Chhattisgarh can be presented to the tourists through Bastar Pandum. Tinkeshwar Tiwari also stressed on promoting the traditional dishes of Chhattisgarh prominently at tourist places on the lines of Rajasthani food.

Rajat Awasthi, a young journalist of State News Service, honored Chief Minister Sai with Rajasthani cap and turban and thanked him for starting the journalist tour scheme. On this occasion, Chief Minister’s Press Officer Alok Singh, Additional Director of Public Relations Department Sanjeev Tiwari, Joint Director Jitendra Nagesh and journalists and other officials were present.
